Puerto Rico Open - Practice

My flight arrived on Monday about 12:30. By the time I picked up my bags and took the 45 minutes ride to the resort it was almost 3:00 when I met Kevin. He was already through 14 holes in his pro-am and was doing just fine without me. We finished up the pro-am, practiced and went back to the resort. Kevin arrived at mid-night on Sunday and after a day of playing and practicing, he was ready for an early dinner and bed.

On Tuesday, we woke up early and played an early practice round with Kevin Chappell, Andres Gonzalas, and Peter Tomasulo. After lunch, we hit balls, chipped and putted. Kevin is having a little trouble getting his feel to match the swing. The ball flight looks great to me but he said it just does not feel good. He doesn't like how he hits three or four real solid shots and then hits a bad one with what feels like the same swing to him. I think we just need to continue working on the same things and the reps will clean up the loose swings. We are hitting too many good ones to worry about the few bad ones. Our short game will bail us out with those if need be.

Wednesday was our typical practice day. Ball hitting, chipping, bunker work and putting. Kevin didn't sleep well last night so he came back after a late lunch for some much needed rest. We tee off tomorrow at 12:50, a good night sleep tonight and he'll be ready tomorrow.
